What is it?
We help successful leaders get even better by achieving positive, lasting change in behavior for themselves, their people and their teams.
Who Do We Work With?
Leaders who:
- Have achieved substantial success in their career.
- Recognize that development of leadership behaviors (not a strategy, financial acumen or other non-behavioral skills) are important for future success
- Want to work with a coach to become even more effective.
What is the process?
We use the Marshall Goldsmith Coaching Process (featured in The New Yorker, Forbes and Harvard Business Review) working with leaders – primarily from Fortune 500 companies. Characteristics of the process include:
- Measurable outcomes regarding changes in the leader’s behavior as determined by stakeholders at the end of the coaching engagement.
- A straight forward approach that does not require a significant amount of time (if it did, busy leaders would not do it).
- Comprehensive assessment of behaviors from key stakeholders.
- A focus on changing leadership behavior and perceptions of behavior (which may not be the same).
- Confidentiality, confidence and a positive outlook
Typical Coaching Goals:
- Delegate more effectively
- Listen to different points of view with an open mind
- Act decisively
- Present self with confidence
- Build effective cross-functional relationships and alliances
- Become a better coach and mentor
- Communicate more effectively
- Address conflict constructively
- Treat others with respect
- Increase personal effectiveness
- Effectively manage impatience, anger, and frustration
- Build executive presence
- Change from solo superstar to team player

Testimonials
Dan Dodson – President – Fortified Health Security
“Very few times in life do you interact with someone that completely transforms you as a person. My experience with Bill was one of those times, resulting in me being a better leader, husband, and father. Bill helped me restructure my approach to leading people and driving value. Years later, I still use the tools that Bill equipped me with daily. My team and company are thriving largely due to the perspective I gained on leadership working through Bill’s process. He is the right executive coach for someone that wants to truly take their leadership abilities to the next level and become a more effective executive.”
Jim Farley – Chairman and CEO – Ford Motor Company Europe
“Bill’s approach is personal and objective. Focusing on a few opportunity areas, we were able to make meaningful progress regarding my effectiveness measured by peers, team, family, and leaders. Bill is so personable the opportunities never felt like liabilities. Thank you, Bill”
Rich Daly – Senior VP of Marketing – TAP Pharmaceutical
“The Goldsmith process was so compelling and clear that it was obvious to me that we had to use it. Once I got into the program it became a self-re-enforcing process from which all of the participants benefited not just me (the “coached”). Its fact-based, data-driven and provides real-time information to help the individual improve. However, the process doesn’t stop there. It also offers real-life situations as examples from one’s trusted partners, coworkers and managers as supplements to the data. All around the best program in which I have ever been involved.
Paul Meurer – CFO – Realty Income
“Bill made an immediate impact on my career and he was a pleasure to work with as a coach. He was straightforward and practical, and he challenged me throughout the process. I think his real-world work experience prior to pursuing his consulting career is a real asset to him, as he is able to quickly understand the workplace dynamics. I truly enjoyed our time working together and am thankful for the experience
David Furstoss – Executive Director – Pactiv Corporation
“What first comes to mind when I think about my experience with Bill Hawkins was how I entered into the coaching experience feeling the goal was to help me learn to leap over the career obstacles and launch me to the top. What I found out as the experience unfolded was that the biggest obstacle was not the company, employees or boss but rather Me, Myself and I.
The second item that comes to mind is that Bill helped me understand the impossible is only impossible because we tell ourselves it is impossible. Therefore, I took the tact that Bill and I were not creating a new me rather we were building a “Better” me. In all Bill allowed me the opportunity for true personal reflection and guided me through the constructive process of utilizing that reflection as a pathway to future potential. Now I can self-guide, self-reflect and self-improve in ways that benefit the company, my employees, my boss and myself. Bill opened the door to a continuous evolution of my skillset and the endless potential of personal success simply by teaching me to get out of my own way.”
Marshall Goldsmith – Voted #1 Executive Coach in the World
“Bill Hawkins is one of the few executive coaches that I recommend for leaders at the very top of major corporations. His coaching and teaching help leaders achieve positive, lasting change in behavior – for themselves, their people and their teams. He is one of the very best in this field.
